    Togianfrog,

I was there then. Did you teach out of Tsunami Gear?

  16. By Togianfrog on Mar 20, 2009 | Reply

I used to teach SCUBA diving there back in 2002-2003 and was in the water all over the prefecture nearly every day. Although the waters have been heavily over-fished and some of the reefs around the very popular dive sites (Maeda Point and Sunabe Seawall) are nothing to write home about, the reefs around the the northern part of Okinawa-honto and the Kerama Islands are in very good shape.

No its not, its depressing – the majority of the coral featured in it is dead, so therefore it is only a good film in terms of reminding us that we are on the brink of ecological disaster on land and at sea. Sorry.

Actually if you were there diving you would see vibrant colors and coral that is alive…very beautiful in fact…this video does not do Okinawa diving justice! Good film none the less
