Are there people out there clinically afraid of their own shadow?

There are people afraid of cauliflowers and staplers. Is it really hard to believe that some are actually afraid of their own shadow?

fear of the things most of us see as silly, really have nothing to do with the thing these people are afraid of. Sometimes when there is a tramatic event in ones life they associate that with an object or item, and in turn, the anxiety about the situation turns into anxiety for the object they associate with it. Point in case, I am deathly afraid of clowns. I was very young and fell down a flight of stairs while i was holding a clown doll. So, I took the stress from that situation and assciate it with clowns. (although now that I’ve come to that realization, it’s much easier to work past that fear.)

Yes, it’s called sciophobia. I don’t think it’s very common, though, and it’s fear of SHADOWS, not specifically THEIR OWN shadows.

I’m one of them. I don’t dare step on my own shadow either. How about you?
