<a href=""></a>

I remember Subic Bay quite well. The last time I was there, was August 1, 1983. I was stationed on the USS Kansas City (AOR 3). I had a girlfriend named Wilma Padran, and I always wondered what happened to her. It was sad because I saw a lot of poverty in Olongopo and the children who were abandoned by the military men.

First time I was there was 1991 when the volcano left ash everywhere. I was on the USS Abraham Lincoln and our duty was to evacuate all of the dependents from Clark/Subic to Cubi Point. I never got any liberty there. The dependents told me a lot of sad stories. I have never been back since and plan to visit as a civilian soon.
