I was wondering a good place for a starter like me to go mining for gold here in the U.S. Also what kind of tools would I need and approximately how much they cost? One more thing I live in Texas so is their any gold mines here? Thanks in advance!!

You can’t. So don’t try. All the good gold mining spots are tourist traps or mining companies have already taken them. This is one of the most idiotic questions I have ever heard.

Saudi Arabia, just west of their 130-degree central desert, in the place called “the Gold Crescent”.
Watch out for the shepherds with overstuffed tunics. They have explosive personalities.

You’re right Texas has had little or no historic gold production, but New Mexico and Colorado have had quite a bit. It is tough to make a living prospecting even at a thousand dollars an ounce, but there are people doing it.
Also, it is pretty easy to find places to prospect on public land in the West.
