We attended a very lovely Korean/Thai wedding. When we arrived the bride and groom?

Boo Radley asked:

were in a kneeling over flowers with something in their hands that was dripping water onto the flowers, they had some kind of white beads from their heads and the groom had some white stuff on his forehead. We didn’t get a chance to ask anyone (who knew) what kind of ceremony or gesture that was. Can anyone explain?
thanks

Well… you MUST know someone in the bridal party/family to have been invited to it. Why not simply contact the couple, or the family member you know, and ask them about it. There’s nothing wrong with being curious about these things, and no one should take offense at your inquiry. Sample phone call:

Hello, Maylee… this is [your name]. I had SUCH a wonderful time at the wedding! There’s one thing that particularly caught my attention, and that is when [describe the event]. It was so moving, and I wondered if there was some special meaning or if this was unique to one of the cultural traditions. Could you help me understand this better?

See? Not really difficult to do. GOOD luck!

    Have a polite day.
