    the first answerer is wrong in some states yes there is enough gold that anyone could find enough to live off of, the trick is finding where at so get online and look for the nearest GPAA (Gold Prospectors Association of America) area and start asking questions.
    Ive been in oregon and alaska doing prospecting and have had some pretty good luck

    Alaska. But you can only pan for a short period of time – the summer.
